Marathon month challenge complete

At the beginning of September I set out to run 26.2 miles in 20 days, all in aid of raising some money for Cancer Research UK and I am so thrilled to say I completed the challenge!

I did not make life easy for myself. I initially set out to run 2 miles every other day, but that plan soon was set aside when I would skip the odd day. The great thing is it forced me to run further than I ever have because I needed to get my miles in. The furthest I ran in one setting was 4.75  miles (which took me 54 minutes) and for someone who had previously not run more than 2.5 miles in one setting, I was pretty pleased with myself.

This challenge taught me discipline, helped me to improve on my endurance and also helped my focus. There were times that I thought, maybe I should extend my deadline, but I stuck to it. For anyone who may have thought of doing a challenge like this, I say go for it, my mental and physical health are in better stead because of this challenge.

And for the most amazing news, we managed to raise £300 for Cancer Research UK!! I am soooo thrilled. I would like to say a massive thank you to all who supported me with words and with generous donations, I am honestly so appreciative.

Together, we will beat cancer.

Thank you again for the support, my fundraiser page is still open if you would like to donate.
